Once upon a time, in a strange and faraway land, a devastating war wreaked havoc upon the inhabitants of a mythical world. Only, the world wasn't mythical; the world of Karil was, and is to this day, a real world. Outside of the realm that mere mortals know in their universe, we, the citizens of Karil, exist. We are a small people, but a people with many differences amongst us. The World of Karil is separated into three main domains: Goentar, The Valley of Shadows and Wyvrin. In Goentar dwells the mighty and glorious humans, those of good persona and economic differences. The Valley of Shadows is a neutral but dangerous place. The evil troops of Wyvrin stalk and capture all of those who travel from Goentar to the benevolent Karil Monastery in the north of the Valley of Shadows and place them into the infamous Wyvrin War Prison. Wyvrin holds the nastiest of the humans that live in Karil. Wyvrin and Goentar are at war with one another.
Goentar is the country to the far east of Karil. It is ruled by Queen Reighnira, who is the youngest Queen in the entire history of Goentar. However, Goentar is in danger of losing its Queen, as she now has six months to get married or lose her crown. Every so often, Wyvrin launches a raid on Goentar. Two years ago, such a raid occurred. Wyvrin troops were able to infiltrate Castle Goentar and brutally murder the King and Queen, leaving their oldest daughter to take the throne. However, their oldest daughter, Onyxiana, did not care for the throne and passed it on to her younger sister.
Goentar is split up into eight districts: the Temples, Castle Goentar, Wealthen, Gentriel, Baryle, Sono, the Markets and the Canals. Where you live in Goentar depends on your economic class. Goentar happens to have three: the Wealthy and Socially Preferred, the Rich and Relatively Average, and the Poor. The people of Baryle are usually those that provided the Markets with their goods.
The Valley of Shadows is the more neutral domain of Karil. In the Valley of Shadows is the Karil Monastery, the Shadow Spire and Finryle. The Karil Monastery is where the High Priests and Priestesses of Karil live and worship. They are a peaceful people ruled by Goentar. The Shadow Spire is where troops and scientists stationed in the Valley of Shadows by the Kingdom of Wyvrin live and work. These scientists experiment on citizens of Goentar captured by the Wyvrin troops before they are taken to the Wyvrin War Prison. Needless to say, the Shadow Spire is ruled by Wyvrin.
At the south, Finryle holds the neutral elves. These elves are passive towards the other citizens of Karil due to the war that is raging beyond its gates and do not usually converse with outsiders.
Wyvrin is on the far east of Karil. It is an evil kingdom with districts piled up upon one another. It is ruled by King Maaren Deppreas and Queen Lilith Deppreas. They have a son, who spends much of his time in the Wyvrin War Prison as of late, Prince Draconio Deppreas. The citizens of Wyvrin are hateful to anyone who is not in alliance with them. Wyvrin is split up into eight districts: Nersheen, Maaren’s Lair, Levian, Muertan, Maaren’s Fountain, Bloodren, Anhum and the Wyvrin War Prison. Muertan is battling a terrible plague and is closed to the rest of the world.
Wyvrin is in an economic crisis, with much of its population being poor. This is due to the enormous funds spent on the war between Wyvrin and Goentar. To make matters worse, it is rumored that the Prince is going to run away with the captured sister of Queen Reighnira of Goentar and marry her!
